This is my eighth year teaching at MCC-FTS. I am certified by the State
of Illinois with a Bachelors in Secondary Education from DePaul University.
My area of concentration is Social Studies/History. I also recently completed
a Master's Degree in English Language Learning from Western Governors
University. I teach grades 6-8 in MCC-FTS, both Social Studies and Islamic
History. I teach two sections of American History and one section of World
History. I also teach four different sections of Islamic History, ranging
from Jahiliyyah to contemporary and modern issues in the Muslim World.
My mission is to empower students with knowledge of their history and the
history of their nation as well as the world around them.It is my hope,
Insha'Allah, that the acquisition of this knowledge will foster tolerance and
cultural understanding among my students. The goal of learning history is to
learn from the mistakes of the past, Insha'Allah, my students too will learn
from the lessons of the ancients, and not make the same errors themselves. It
is my ardent desire that by learning of the shining examples of the Prophets
and Sahaba, my students will also aspire to adopt their high ideals of
integrity, democracy, and spiritual betterment.
