Bedtime Story

Helping your preschooler become a future reader

Aim to read to your child for 10 minutes a day, and read at the same time

every day, so your child gets used to the routine. Though bedtime is the most

common time for parents to read to children, a different time of day would be

fine, too. Please write daily what you read and who read to the child on the

log that is provided in the back pocket of our daily folder. We will award the

children who read the most at the end of the quarter.

“Research has shown that children whose parents read aloud regularly to them

become better readers and students. When you turn reading time into a loving,

happy time with your child, he or she will forever associate reading with

those wonderful warm feelings of being with you.”
