Course Requirements:
- Bring to class each day your textbook, journal (which will include your class notes & homework), pen/pencil and any other handouts.
- All students will be required to keep a three ringed binder as a journal for the entire semester. The journal will be divided into two areas; class notes and homework. These will be collected and evaluated at the end of each unit. You may want to purchase folders for your binder so you can keep all your papers together!
- A monthly calendar will be given to you for each unit of study. It will outline topics, homework assignments, tests, etc.. These should be kept in your journal.
- Attendance is important! Tardiness and absences will be dealt with as per school policy.
- All make up work missed due to an excused absence may be made up. Homework is due the day you return and tests must be made up no more than five days after you return. Tests must be made up before or after school. No class time will be given for make up work. All unexcused absences will be dealt with as per school policy. All late work will be deducted 20% and no work will be accepted after an assignment has been returned.
- Tests will be objective, short answer and essay in format. These exams will not only cover the material found in the text, but also information from class notes, handouts, AV presentations, etc.. The final exam for this course is comprehensive so it is important that you retain all materials (homework, tests, etc..) returned to you.
- The grading scale for this course is as follows:
A = 95-100 A- = 93-94
B+ = 91-92 B = 87-90 B- = 85-86
C+ = 83-84 C = 79-82 C- = 77-78

to augment the class discussions. Students will receive a participation grade at the
end of each quarter, the point value will be the equivalent of a large exam.
