 A NOTE ON PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES:
Since there are a limited number of spaces available for conferencing, time must remain available for parents of students who are struggling within my classroom (C grade or lower.)  If your student has an A or a B, I encourage parents to contact me via email with any concerns.
I want every student to succeed within my classroom - and meeting with parents of struggling students is crucial to that success.  Thank you for your understanding!

SOPHOMORES:
We are well into Unit 2 - which will be covered on the Quarter I Exam (only the stories we've read and discussed!)  Remember - I do not hand you official "study guides" for quarter exams.  Use your English II Assignment page to remind yourself exactly what we've covered in class.  ANYTHING we've discussed or read could be on this exam.  Units 1-4 in the vocab book will also be included, as will the grammar we've covered.

As discussed in class - you can access a COMPLETE online version of your Literature book!  Just visit www.classzone.com, register as a student, using this code:  3136749-160 and you'll be able to view everything (stories, questions, etc.)  You can even LISTEN to stories being read to you by professional actors!  This is a wonderful option!

JUNIORS:
Just in time for the Halloween season (it's purely coincidence) we are now entering Salem, MA and reading all about the Salem Witch Trials.  We are reading primary documents, "The Examination of Sarah Good" - which is a detailed "court" transcript - illustrating the biased questioning used to condemn innocent women and men.  I am showing an amazing film that is, perhaps, the most historically accurate account of the build-up and hysteria as we read on our own.  The film will help students better understand the context of Arthur Miller's drama The Crucible, which we will start before the end of the quarter.
