Why FCCLA

Family,Career & Community Leaders of America is a national student
organization that promotes leadership development, career preparation,
and personal growth. Students learn skills for life: planning, goal
setting, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal communication.
FCCLA is the only student organization with the family as its focus. Members
have the opportunity to demonstrate leadership skills through participating
in proficiency events, showcasing community service projects, exploring
careers, attending educational sessions and electing chapter, state, and
national officers.

Here at MFHS our FCCLA Chapter is involved in many activities at the local,
section, district, state, and national level. Check out Announcements to see
what is currently going on in FCCLA, check out Gallery for FCCLA to see
previous activities, and check out the Calendar for future events coming up.

How to become a member of FCCLA at Maroa Forsyth High School

To become a member of FCCLA students must have taken or be currently enrolled
in a Family & Consumer Science class. If you are a student and you are NOT
enrolled in one of Mrs. Daggett’s classes you may join FCCLA at the local
level. You will be able to participate in everything the Chapter does at
school and in the community, you will NOT be able to attend section,
district, state, or national meetings.

All members of FCCLA must pay dues and/or participate in the annual Fund
Raiser and sell 15 items.

Fundraising is very important part of our organization. Money raised from
our Fund Raiser/Dues helps to support the many activities and services that
FCCLA provides some which are: Homecoming activities, Awards Dinner, FCCLA
Week activities, and community service projects.

The $50.00 dues are: $9.00 national dues, $5.00 state dues, $35.00 local
dues. Upon paying your dues you will receive a FREE Chapter T-shirt with
this years theme on it.

The $20.00 dues: Upon paying your dues you will receive a FREE Chapter T-
shirt with this years theme on it.

All dues and Fundraiser money must be turned in by September 23rd.
