My name is Jodi Selle and
I will be your second grade teacher this year. This will be my fifth year
teaching 2nd grade at Meadow View Elementary. Every year I have been here has
been very rewarding and memorable. I am very eager to get this year started
and I'm looking forward to meeting my 2009-2010 class.
Miss Selle in 2nd
Grade
I was born and raised in
Centralia, a small Southern Illinois town. I grew up on a very large farm
where my parents grew a variety of fruits and vegetables. I feel fortunate to
have grown up there and to be able to share those farm experiences with my
students. I am the youngest child in a pretty large family. I have four older
sisters and three older brothers. Right now I have seven nephews and six
nieces and there is one more on the way. The 14th baby will be here around
Thanksgiving!
The Selle Sisters
After graduating high
school, I went off to college at Illinois State University in
Bloomington/Normal. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in
2005. It was during my last semester at ISU that I was drawn to Plainfield. I
was given a student teaching assignment as a first grade teacher at Wesmere
Elementary. Upon completing student teaching, I was very fortunate to have
been offered a job at Meadow View and stay in the Plainfield School District.
In the summer of 2009, I completed my Master's Degree in Reading Education
through Concordia University. I am currently living in Plainfield and going on
my fifth year of teaching at Meadow View Elementary.
My Mom and Dad
I enjoy all sports. In my
spare time I like to play volleyball, softball, and tennis. I also love
watching St. Louis Cardinals Baseball! Other hobbies include updating my
website, going to the movies, and of course, READING! If you visit my
classroom, you will notice really quickly the one thing I like to collect is
children's books. I can't wait to share my love for reading with my students
this year.
My favorite
baseball team
In my classroom, I promote
an atmosphere of safety, trust, and respect. I work hard to build a sense of
community among my students, and I emphasize the idea of teamwork. I value
cooperation and collaboration both in my classroom and as I work with my
peers. I believe that great things can happen when we work together! Meadow
View Elementary is a place where I really feel like part of a strong community
and part of a winning team.
I am looking forward to
another AWESOME year!!!
