Math is a very important
part of our day. I am very passionate about teaching math because it is a
skill that we use in our everyday lives. I always relate math to things that
the students are familiar with so that they gain a better understanding of
each mathematical concept and its importance. I frequently have the students
play math games to reinforce concepts that were taught during instruction.
These games and hands-on activities keep the students engaged in the learning
process.
During the summer of 2008,
Plainfield School District adopted a new math program, EnVisionMATH. This
program by Scott Forseman serves as a resource to our Plainfield District 202
Curriculum that is listed below.
EnVisionMATH is a program
that balances skill instruction with instruction that develops conceptual
understanding through problem based interactive and visual learning.
