SUPPLY LIST FOR NATHAN HALE MIDDLE SCHOOL 6th GRADERS
This List was updated on August 10, 2008
Scroll down to find the Supply List from the 6th grade academic core
teachers (Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, & Reading)
at Nathan Hale Middle School
We have divided the list into several categories. An explanation
for each category is given.
EVERYDAY SUPPLIES
These are the items each student will need to carry with them
everyday.
SUPPLIES ON HAND
The items listed are basic supplies that students need to have at
home or stored in their lockers. They will not need to be carried
to class everyday, but may be needed to complete random assignments
in class or at home.
PROJECTS
Students will be doing a variety of hands-on projects throughout the
year. Supply lists for these assignments will go out in advance of
the project by individual teachers. Most projects will require the
use of crayons, colored pencils, or markers. The first Social
Studies project in August will require the use of white, unlined
index cards. The first research project in Language will require
the
use of multi-colored, lined, index cards.
PLEASE NOTE
Students will be using lockers in sixth grade. The lockers are very
narrow. Please do not buy oversized backpacks or backpacks with
wheels. They will not fit into the lockers. Students are not
allowed to carry their backpacks with them from class to class, but
they can carry them to and from school. This rule also applies to
the new styles of slim, lightweight, book bags many children have
been wearing as purses or backpacks.
There is a dress code in Middle School. Students cannot wear short-
shorts or high-cut mini skirts; this includes mini skirts worn over
tights or leggings. Sleeveless tank tops or tops with spaghetti
straps are also prohibited. Underwear cannot be exposed; this
includes boxers or panties that peak out from above the pant
waistline. Flip-Flops, Tongs, and open-toed shoes are very
dangerous types of shoes to wear in school. Children can trip, stub
toes, and drop items on their unprotected feet when wearing these
types of shoes. |
