Welcome to 6th Grade Music!

 

There are a lot of fun and exciting things that we are going to accomplish this year. Sixth graders will learn how to examine a variety of instruments from around the world by image, sound, and factual information. As well as becoming culturally diverse by learning about dances from different eras and locations around the world.

 

Music Supplies: *Please have the following supplies for the music classroom.*

  • Pencil / Erasable Pen - No permanent pens are aloud.
  • Highlighter
  • Paper

  • Folder

NHM concert choir auditions are over. A great big thank you for all of the students that auditioned. For those of you that still want to join, there’s always next year!

 

Fundraiser On May 15, Concert Choir will be taking their first “spring tour.” I have a few ideas in store for this trip:

  • Cleveland, Ohio
  • St. Louis, Missouri
  • Nashville, Tennessee
  • New York City
  • Disney World, Florida

 

*Price ranges for these trips are from $200.00 through $760.00. The destination decision will be based off of a vote by the concert choir members and their parents. I will be sending home a destination voting sheet with detailed information on each trip (what it includes as well as prices). In order to pay for the tour, we will have to fundraise more than usual.  Therefore, I will create as many opportunities as we can to raise all of the money and no money will have to come out of your pocket.

Today all choir members have received our first fundraiser. This fundraiser includes candles and jewelry.  Please have all money in by Wednesday October 1, 2008.

NHM Concert Choir Upcoming Events:

 

  • Attending the Middle school/High School Exchange with school District 218.
  • Hosting the combined Winter Concert with the NHM Concert Band.
  • Performing at the Black History Month Program.
  • Hosting the combined Spring Concert with NHM Concert Band & Jazz Band.
  • Our annual field trip to Shephard's high school and luncheon at Old Country Buffet.
  • Performance at Graduation!
  • Seventh grade auditions for Scholarships to Choir Summer Camp
