Materials will be available for daily reinforcement/enrichment of math operations, concepts and problem solving including:

  • operations
  • graphing & map skills (social studies/geography)
  • time & measurement
  • fractions, decimals & percentages
  • money
  • stock market - grades 5-8 (social studies/economy)
  • geometry
  • algebra
  • current events involving math physics & statistics - grades 4-8 (social studies)


LANGUAGE ARTS PROGRAM:
The skills and knowledge of Language Arts are essential for student success in virtually all areas of our curriculum.  They are also central requirements for the development of clear expression & critical thinking.  Language Arts includes the study of literature, the development of skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. This includes:
  • computers / keyboarding

  • school news / yearbook
  • essay contests
  • test preparedness
  • internet studies
  • projects
  • novel studies
  • field trips
  • foreign studies
  • vocabulary

The goals of social studies are for the students to analyze comparative political economic systems, events, trends, personalities & movements shaping the history of our community and the state of Illinois, the United States & the World.  The focus of the social studies program is to cover the following areas each year:
