Third graders are finishing up a unit on place value, data landmarks, and
graphing. Ask them to fill in these blanks: "Decimals are more than ____ but
less than ___."
Fourth graders are working of a fantastically fun unit of geometry. It's
everyone's favorite! They're constructing circles, inscribing hexagons, and
learning about angles and polygons. Ask them why triangles are often used as
supports in building but quadrangles are not.
Fifth graders are working on divisibility rules and concepts including prime
factorization, common multiples, and how to use those to predict frequency.
Ask them what Goldbach's Conjecture is.
