Here are a few suggestions for learning fun at home:
* Please read to your child for at least fifteen minutes each and every
night.
* Practice naming the capital and lowercase forms of the letters of the
alphabet.
* Practice sounding the letters of the alphabet.
* Have your child practice writing his name in D'Nealian form.
* Have your child practice writing the capital and lower case forms of our
letter of the week.
* Try finding our sight words in our little FRED books or in the story for
the night.
* Practice counting to 30 and beyond!
* Have fun rhyming.
* Write little notes to your child and have them draw or write back.
* Have your child practice his address and phone number.
* Have your child practice tying his shoes.
*** Then there is.... sketching, coloring, painting, researching,
investigating, helping a friend or family member, playing with
friends,taking
a walk, cooking or baking a special treat, visiting a museum, making a
scrapbook, playing board games, putting together puzzles, playing with clay,
playing "Go Fish" with your alphabet cards, hunting for your sight
words.....and listening to, writing and illustrating wonderful stories.
