FUNdations
Each Monday, your child will receive a Fundation assignment.
The assignment will come with a letter explaining the lesson
to you. The assignment will always be 1-2 lessons behind
whatwe are doing. This way the kids will know what they are
working on, feel confident in completing the assignment, and
it will act as a review. The Fundation assignment will
always be due on the last day of the week, typically Friday.
Reading
"Bag It" Books - These will be sent home periodically
throughout the week. Please go over the assignment with
your child. Prior to completing the assignment, they are
to read the book at least two times. Ask your child what
the book was about, who the characters are, where is the
setting.
Pizza Hut Book It - This form is sent home at the beginning
of each month. It is your child's goal to read 300 minutes
each month. You may read to your child, they may read aloud
or silently, or they can create a story. At the end of each
day, just mark how many minutes they read at home. If at the
end of the month the total is 300 minutes or more, they will
receive a coupon from Pizza Hut. The coupon entitles the
reader to a free personal size pizza!
Math
Approximately, once a week your child will bring home a math
homework sheet. These sheets cover material that we have been
working on in class. The homework is due at the end of each
week.
Science/Social Studies
At the beginning of each month, a parent/student project will
be sent home for comletion. These projects are educational
and fun at the same time.
