Our First Grade Reading Den Program involves a collaboration between classroom teachers, our reading specialists, and reading intervention teachers. By working together we can provide daily small group reading instruction for your child targeted at his/her specific needs and instructional level.

Our first graders love the Reading Den and can't wait for their daily visit. They play learning games, read leveled books, write in special journals, and share ideas while discussing their books. We can teach decoding (tricky word) strategies and comprehension (get meaning) strategies in a uniform and consistent way so all first graders benefit.

Children are assessed weekly and groups are restructured every two weeks for optimal learning potential.
