Mystery Readers

Who?

Mystery Readers can be any special person in your first grader's life. Parents, grandparents, older brothers or sisters, or other special people can all be mystery readers. Mystery readers might even be members of Pioneer School's staff!

What?

Mystery Readers are surprise readers who come to read a story to our class.

When?

Our Mystery Reader time is scheduled for 11:50-12:05 on Mondays. If you need another day or time I will do my best to accommodate you.

Where?

The Mystery Reader program will begin in our classroom in October. I will have a Mystery Reader sign-up sheet at Parent Orientation on September 4th. You can also check the days below and let me know through email that you would like to be a Mystery Reader. You can also drop a note in your child's B.E.E. Keeper binder. Remember to keep it "top secret" until your day arrives! The surprise element is a lot of the fun!

Why?

Your child will be thrilled and surprised to have someone close to him/her read to the class. This is an easy, quick way to be involved in school which means a lot to your first grader!

How?

Just sign up for a date to come and read and think of a book you would like to read. It can be one of your child's favorites or can go with the theme we are working on. If you don't have a book, I will be happy to choose one for you...we have plenty! I will send you a reminder of the date. You'll need to write five clues that I'll read to the children the morning of your visit. You will want to have 5 clues that start general and become more specific. On the last clue, your child should be wondering if you are the mystery reader for the day!

~*~Thanks so much for volunteering for this special way to make reading fun! ~*~ Mrs. Zider
