What is the 7th grade class schedule?

8:40 - 9:10          Zero hour
9:14 - 10:02 First hour
10:05 - 10:47 Second hour
10:50 - 11:32 Third hour

11:32 - 12:02 Lunch
12:05 - 12:17 Homeroom

12:20 - 1:02 Fifth hour
1:05 - 1:47 Sixth hour

How can I keep up-to-date on my child's progress?

There are several ways to keep informed:

1. Ask your child how he is doing on a regular basis.
2. Check the Homework website page at least once a week early in the week.
3. Use the Parent Portal! You can access your child's grades
online through PowerSchool. The office has your password and
login information.
4. Check your child's graded papers. (No papers should be thrown
out until the end of each grading period.)
5. Report cards go home with all students at the end of each
grading period.
6. Send a note with your child, call the school, or e-mail the
teacher to get an update at any time.

What if I need help with an assignment outside of class time?

Use the links page of our teacher website to access online textbooks.  
You can use tutorials, print worksheets, and read the textbook online.
Also, 7 EAST teachers are available for Zero hour DAILY.

What is the 7th grade East homework policy?

All homework assigned is due the next day unless otherwise specified.  
Late assignments will be accepted within 24 hours for full credit.
After that, late assignments will be accepted until the test or end of
the unit with penalty as per individual teacher.

What is the 7 EAST make-up work policy?

*Make-up work may be requested through the office for absences of 
at least TWO days.
*It is the student’s responsibility to check with each teacher
for make-up work the day he/she returns.
*Any homework requested ahead of time is expected to be complete
when the student returns.

What is the tardy policy for RMS?

•A student is considered tardy if he/she is not seated and 
prepared to work when the BELL RINGS.
•Silent Reading time begins at 12:05. Students not seated and
reading at this time are considered tardy.
•Each teacher will keep track of the number of times a student is
tardy. A third tardy in any hour per quarter will result in a
before school detention. (Detentions for
tardiness are scheduled based on the teacher’s schedule. Students
are responsible for arranging their own rides.)
•Every tardy after the third results in a 30 minute detention.
•After three detentions in one class, Mr. Heidel will be notified
and further action will be taken.

What are punch cards?

A punch card will be provided to each student at the beginning of each week.  
It is to be kept with the student ID and lanyard. If the student breaks a rule,
he or she must present his/her punch card to the teacher to receive a punch.
First quarter, the cards will have 8 punches. The number of punches will be
reduced each quarter.

What happens when a student loses their punch card?

In the event that a student loses their punch card,  a second chance card
will be issued with a lunch detention. The second chance card will
have only 2 punches, but will work the same as the regular punch card.

What happens when a student uses all of the punches on the punch card?

1.  They will be given a zero hour or after school detention. 
2. For any further punches that week, they will receive an additional detention.

What is homeroom?

Homeroom is a 12 minute period after lunch for silent reading of AR books.  
Students are expected to report to homeroom by 12:05 PM with an AR book.
Students who do not bring an AR book will receive a detention from the office.
