| Be sure to stop in for the Turkey Trot on November 25 from 1:50-2:20 for the
fifth graders. They would love to see you dance and trot with them. Students
will be going outside for recess as weather permits. Please have them dress
warm as it is starting to get chilly. Our class will be doing an author
study of Roald Dahl, reading his books, and making posters on imagery and
figuative language. Included in this unit is our "Scrumpdillyicious" annual
junk food feast. I will make the "frobscottle" (the students can fill you in
on what this is) and have the plates, cups and napkins. I would like each
student to bring in a fairly healthy snack to share with the class.....ie-
pretzels, chips and dip, fruit, salsa and chips, cheese and crackers,
veggies and dip, popcorn, trail mix, etc. .....No candy please! We will be
watching the movie Matilda while we are feasting. Students may also bring a
board game in from home to play with their friends for that afternoon. Thank
you in advance with your help on this, it is a fun day and a reward for
hardwork!!! Report cards come out the November 21. Please be watching for
those to come home and discuss strengths and weaknesses with your child.
Also many of my students are missing or out of supplies; pencils,
paper ,glue ,scissors....Please check with them to see what they need to
supplement their supplies. Thank you!
Enjoy your week-end! Mrs. Swearingen
