Welcome Back to Art and the 2009-10 school year! Students need the following
materials with them each day in Art class: their Visual Diary (made the first
week of class), two pencils, an eraser, two glue sticks, and two black thin
Sharpie markers.
Mothers and Others: The art room is always in need of magazines, plastic
containers, old yarn, and aprons/smocks. Thanks!
Reminder to Students and Parents:
As your child exits art, please ask them about their artworks. It is never
the intent of the art department at Spring Wood to keep student artwork.
Students own their artwork and have every right to have them and cherish
them. Often work is kept for display, and given back at a later date; if
your child does not receive their artwork back immediately during or
following the term they have art, please encourage them to see me for their
beautiful artwork! Ceramic pieces are fired at varying times to fit into
the kiln, so often time elapses from the time a student has art, to the time
they finally receive their ceramic pieces back. Students should ask about
their clay pieces if they don't receive them.
After School Art:
Thursday from 3:00 - 4:15 PM is a time allotted for after school
Art. This is a time for students who have work to complete
to do so, in addition to receiving teacher help. Students should tell the
teacher in advance if they plan to stay for after school Art. Students can
take the 4:15 bus home if needed.
