Vision and Hearing Screening - General Information

The school years are an important period in a child's life. During this time, children are introduced to the world of learning and they begin to acquire vital social skills. Development on both these areas can be inhibited, however, if a child's vision or hearing is impaired. That is why it is so important for children to be screened regularly for vision and hearing loss.

Vision and hearing screening are conducted by the DuPage County Health Department and the School District. If you would like further information about vision and hearing screenings, contact your school district health services office or the

Any time a parent or teacher has a concern call, send a note, or stop in your school health service office and request your child have a screening. This can usually be done within two weeks of the request.
