I grew up in Elkhart,Indiana, not far from the Michigan border. The coolest
thing about Elkhart is that it has a high Amish population. It was not
unusual to have horse and buggies run down my street. Amish kids would
knock on our front door to sell fresh baked bread, pies, and noodles. There
are horse hitching posts outside of public places, even the shopping malls.
I miss that!
I used to own a restaurant very close to the University of Notre Dame. I
have also been a newspaper reporter for the Daily Herald, suburban Chicago
area.
I love to travel and have been to Asia, Europe, Africa, The Middle East and
Mexico and most of the US states. I want to see Morocco and Hawaii someday.
I have three children. My youngest daughter, attends Lake Park High School.
My older daughter is a student at DePaul University and my son is a musician
and his home base is in Michigan. He is a musician and spends most of his
time writing and recording music.
I am graduate of DePaul University in Chicago, and I have a Masters degree
in Administration from Aurora University.
I have been teaching in District 20 since 1994. I teach 7th grade science
and Strategic Learning.
