I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education with a special education emphasis
from Northern Illinois University. My early teaching career was in private
schools where I taught self-contained fifth grade,sixth through eighth grade
language arts/reading, and self-contained sixth grade. After earning my Master
of Science in Education with a reading emphasis, I taught college reading and
study skills at Northern Illinois University. I have been at Spring Wood since
December 1989 as a seventh grade language arts/reading teacher, reading
specialist, and sixth grade language arts teacher.
I have lived in this area my entire life. I am married and have two grown
sons. In my free time I enjoy rubber stamping with friends, curling up with
a great book, knitting, traveling, and hiking the woods of Door County.
