When can I hold/touch/play with the snakes???

Ummm....Mr. Holda is working on that. Right now his biggest concern is
making sure that everyone is on track for Applied Science. Don't worry
though, for all of you soon-to-be snake charmers, there will be at least a
day during class before the semester is through, where you'll be able to
hold/touch/play with my beautiful classroom pets!

What is Applied Language Arts?

Applied Language Arts (ALA) is a new curriculum designed just for 6th grade
students and it will replace the 6th grade Applied Science curriculum. In
ALA students will not only learn about the nuts and bolts of communication
and public speaking, but they will learn how to speak publicly, listen
actively, and understand each other better by increasing their self-
awareness and their skills at communicating.

You don't REALLY have a snake in your classroom, DO YOU???

Yes. Two of them, actually. Fear not, they are in a terrarium/tank with a
sealed lid. They're corn snakes (harmless & not venomous) and WILL NOT BITE
YOU, unless you smell or taste like a wet mouse, that is...

You're the coach for Spring Wood's LEGO Robotics Team, right?

Yes. I am.

What IS the LEGO Robtoics Team, anyway?

The Lego Robotics Team is an after-school team sponsered by Spring Wood for
7th and 8th grade Spring Wood students. Just like any team, we compete
against other schools, but we don't wear uniforms to keep our bodies cool,
sweat during pratice, or get tired during practice. At least, not most of
the time. We design robots out of Legos and program them with computers to
navigate an obstacle course. We also do research and prepare a presentation
to judges based up on our technology and science-based research. It's FUN.
