The picture you see is me and my true love at Loch Lomond in Scotland. We
visited there for our 25th wedding anniversary. I have 2 grown children who
attended St. Agnes Catholic School school and then Marian Catholic High
School. I am proud to say I am a member of St. Agnes Church and school and
have been for over 15 years.
I am a graduate of Prairie State, Trinity Christian College and St. Xavier
University. I have a BA in Education with a history minor. My endorsements
are in Language Arts and Social Sciences, and I have a Masters degree in
Reading. I am also qualified to be a reading specialist. I have also taken
some Early Childhood classes.
I believe children learn in different ways so I try to teach concepts using a
variety of methods. We will not only be sitting at desks coloring and writing
but we will use manipulatives and other media to experience and learn. Please
feel free to check out the links I add to my "links". This will give you a
taste of what your child learns and how it is taught in my class. Also we will
use the SmartBoards at least 3 times a week. It will generally break down to 1
day for literacy, 1 for math, and 1 for social studies and map work. Although
there may be times I change this for extra practice in one of the other areas
or special events. Ask them what we did on the "board".
Teaching is all about finding the way a child learns and giving him/her the
tools to do it.
For students to grow and learn in a Christian environment in ways that will
prepare them for future education as well as life itself.
