Homework for Kindergarten consists of worksheets and reading
books to fill the monthly reading charts. (The reading charts should remain
in the children's folders.) The children should practice naming all of the
letters in the alphabet, saying the sound each letter makes, and printing both capital and lowercase
letters. They may practice counting to 100 by ones, twos, fives, and tens. They should be able to
recognize and write numbers 0 - 100. The children should practice reciting their address
and telephone number. Tying shoes, zipping, and buttoning are also skills that should be practiced
regularly. The Sign of the Cross, the Our Father, the Hail Mary, Grace Before Meals, and the Glory Be are
all prayers that Kindergarten students should know. The Prayer of St. Francis is also learned by the full-
day Kindergarten students.
