Mrs. Rowe has been the computer teacher at St. Alexander School for
15 years. She has a type 9 ISBE certificate to teach Kindergarten through 8th
grade. She is iSafe Certified, and an Approved Professional Growth
Provider from the ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education). She is a member of
ICE, the Illinois Computing Educators, and is the Governing Board liaison and
president of the local chapter, ICE CHIP. She received a Master's Degree in
Technology in Education from National-Louis University in 2010.
She enjoys problem-solving, watching movies, and her hobbies include driving,
and keeping freshwater fish and birds.
To ready students for high school by learning and utilizing the basic
skills necessary to use a computer as a tool to complete and reinforce
their classroom learning, following the curriculum goals of ISTE NETS-S. This
includes teaching keyboarding and the Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel and
PowerPoint. To follow the guidelines of the Archdiocese and the law of the
State of Illinois to teach internet safety to students in 3rd through 8th
grade using a combination of iSafe, Netsmartz and CommonSense curriculums. To
teach students how to responsibly integrate technology in their lives.
To introduce 7th and 8th grade students to a variety of
subjects/topics/careers that utilize STEM - science, technology, engineering
and mathematics in Applied Technology class utilizing the PITSCO Synergystic
Systems Applied Technology Lab/curriculum.
