This is my 14th year teaching at St. Ferdinand School. I have always been a
junior high teacher here at St. Ferdinand with a 7th grade homeroom. For the
past 4 years I have also been the assistant principal. I am currently working
on my masters degree at Dominican University for Leadership and to gain my
type 75 certificate in order to become a principal. I have enjoyed my career
here with all of the students and parents and greatly enjoy it when former
students stop by and fill me in on what is happening in their lives.
The course work for my classes includes United States history, government and
constitution, economic trends, and cultural climates. In addition, I enable
my students to grow independently to explore the ramifications of historical
decisions in today's world. Responsibility for one's own decisions and
actions are always expected and a conscious effort towards a mature attitude
is emphasized. Being both knowledgable about the content area and on
becoming a good citizen for the global community is my mission for all of my
students.
