I’m thrilled to be in my fifth year of teaching reading at St. Josaphat
School. I have had the pleasure of being an educator for over 20 years. In
addition to a B.A. with teacher certification, I have also earned an M.A. in
French Linguistics and Pedagogy. Besides teaching in the classroom, I have
also given private instruction to students of all ages, from preschool through
adult, in a variety of subject matters, including Reading, Spelling, Writing,
Everyday Math, French Literacy and Conversation, Algebra, Geometry and
Calculus.
I have helped train student teachers, mentored new teachers, and written
curriculum and local standards. I also coached basketball, softball and
volleyball at various levels from elementary to high school. I am currently
coaching fifth grade girls volleyball at SJS. Go Hawks!
What I have always loved most about teaching is connecting with students, and
being there to facilitate those “a-ha” moments in learning, when everything
just seems to come together for a student.
My husband Tom and I have been involved at St. Josaphat as parishioners for
over 14 years, and our daughters are very happy to be students at SJS. Through
our involvement, it has become very clear to us that St. Josaphat is
indeed a uniquely warm and welcoming community. I feel blessed to have the
opportunity to work with such wonderful children.
My mission is to help all students know the joy reading can bring to their
lives, so they will become lifelong readers. I work with each child at their
current instructional reading level and help them progress to the next.
