Hello! My name is Erin Monley and I am excited to be teaching Spanish at
St. Josaphat School! I am very passionate about the Spanish language and
culture. I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Madrid, Spain,
for a semester during college, and recently spent a month traveling in South
America. I have a minor in Spanish and can't wait to share my enthusiasm
for Spanish with all of my students.

I attended St. Josaphat School from Kindergarten through 8th grade, so I am
especially excited to be here. I went to Loyola Academy for high school, and
recently graduated from the University of San Diego. I loved my time in sunny
San Diego, but I am happy to be home in Chicago.

I have always wanted to be a teacher. When I was growing up, my stuffed
animals were some of the most educated pupils in the neighborhood, and I
thought the teacher store was better than Dairy Queen! I received a Liberal
Studies degree from USD, which is a degree designed specifically for people
who want to be elementary teachers. During my studies, I spent time in a
combined 5th/6th grade classroom and a kindergarten classroom, and then spent
a full semester student teaching in a 3rd grade classroom. I earned a
California Elementary Teaching Credential, and recently received my Illinois
Teaching Credential. I am looking forward to starting my career at such a
great school.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I am always
happy to hear from parents and students! I can't wait to get to know each and
every one of you!
