Happy New Year 2012!
It's a new year, did you resolve to learn more about computer technologies? If so you're in for a treat. With the 3rd Quarter fast approaching we are looking towards learning more about "Internet Technologies" in junior high. Students will learn about some of the underlying technologies that go into making our web-connected world work.
Our focus will be on using the Internet as an effective and ethical research tool. Upper grade students will even begin to experiment with some basic HTML code in an effort to understand some of the basic building blocks that go into creating a web page.
Elementary students will continue to develop their fundamental computer skills, with an emphasis on writing skills. In addition to developing typing speed and accuracy, students will grow more familiar with writing and editing tools specific to computers. Students will also learn about scientific applications for computers, such as collecting, organizing, and graphing data.
As always, I love to hear feedback, so if you've got a suggestion or a new idea for me don't hesitate to get in touch by email at bholmes-gull@stjosaphat.net.
