Weekly Spelling Words

Students will practice spelling animal names. The test is on Thursday, February 16th. If your child has list B, your child must also practice using each word in a sentence for the day of the test.

Spelling Words for the Week of February 13, 2012:

Below is a list of activities your child can do with the spelling words of the week:

1. Rainbow Writing: Write the spelling words in pencil and then use two or three different colored crayons to trace over the words.

2. Pyramid Writing: Write the first letter of your words, then on the next line, write the first two letters of your word. Continue doing this until you have the word spelled.

3. Red Vowels: Write your words in pencil. Then trace over the vowels with a red pencil, pen or crayon.

4. Consonant Circles: Write your words in pencil. Then circle the consonants with a pen, colored pencil or crayon.

7. Color Writing: Write your spelling words in differnt colors and put them together to make one long word.

8. Shaving Cream Writing

9. Computer Writing: type your list words and print it out.

11. Word Search: puzzlemaker.com

12, Rhymes Writing: Write your spelling words and next to each word, write a whyming word.

13. Glue It: Cut out letters from newspapers or magazines to create each list word and glue on the paper.

14. Code Writing: Write your spelling words using a code (1=A, 2=B, 3=C, 4=D, 5=E--> BED=2,5,4)
