About The Teacher

The 2011/2012 school year begins my 12th year at St. Joseph School.

My degree is in Elementary Education obtained from Northeast Missouri State
University with an area of concentration in physical education for the primary
grades. I have completed the Archdiocesan Lay Ministry Program, a two-year
study of theology and church history. In 2006, I became a certified catechist
for the Archdiocese of Chicago.

I am also a certified WILSON READING Teacher. The Wilson Language Reading
System is a sequential, multisensory language program. The program originally
was written for adults with dyslexia, but has expanded to target the needs of
students in the general education classroom through a two-tiered
implementation plan. The Intervention Model incorporates the Wilson technique
in to general education reading settings, while the Intensive Model addresses
students with a language-based learning disability or those in need of small
group instruction.

I have taught first through fourth grades in both public and private schools.
