Ms. Styler’s Classroom Updates
We’re off to a great start in 4th grade this year! These beginning weeks are an adjustment period
where the students, parents, and I learn about each other. New routines and expectations are part of
this experience.
Religion
This is a very valuable opportunity we have to encourage each other to share our faith throughout the
day. Attending Liturgy, understanding Church doctrine, donating money to the poor, and making a
habit of prayer develops a strong faith foundation begun at home. It is a gift to be able to experience
the presence of God together.
Science
General science is a broad span of life, health, earth, and physical sciences provided at an age
appropriate interest level. Using technology, hands-on experiments, and the textbook, we will explore
a variety of topics as well as look for current events in the media. The Science Articles is a great way for
the students to read about contemporary topics happening today in our world.
Language Arts
Communication is a necessary means of sharing and understanding information. Reading, writing,
listening, and speaking are valuable ways to get ideas out to others or get information from others.
Creativity, learning to follow the rules of grammar in writing, and polishing handwriting skills are part
of this process in developing better skills in communication. Journaling, independent reading with
book reports, and presenting information to the class are other skills needed for conveying ideas to
others.
You and I have a wonderful opportunity to work as a team for the betterment of your child. If you have
any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to call or email me. I will get back to you promptly. I will also
count on you if I need help on the home front. Thank you in advance for your
cooperation and support!
MIDQUARTER PROGRESS REPORTS WILL BE SENT HOME ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14 TO EACH CHILD IN
4TH GRADE!
