Sixth Grade

During the first quarter, students will work on enhancing their typing skills. Emphasis is placed on memorizing key placement. Students will also expand their MS Word and MS Excel skills while completing various exercises.

Seventh Grade

The seventh grade students will review keyboarding with the goals of increasing their key proficiency and speed. They will also complete exercises in MS Word and MS Excel to review concepts learned last year and to introduce new ones. As the students pick their science fair topics, exercises will be done in class to assist them with finding relevant web sites and evaluating their appropriateness.

Eighth Grade

Eighth grade students will start the year completing a variety of assignments using the more advanced features of MS Word. They will also use Excel spreadsheets to calculate a variety of data. The elements of PowerPoint willbe reviewed and students will create a presentation about a particular author they have researched.
