For the week of February 6th:
Notes: Back to our regular schedule...Whew! Thanks for a wonderful Catholic Schools Week! I think a great time was had by all. Please continue to send in paper towel rolls. We will be using them for a craft. On March 2, we will be having an Australian feast to celebrate the end our our Australia unit. Mrs. Streit will be looking for some volunteer cooks to help us out. She has the recipes we need. Thanks in advance for your cooking expertise!Language Arts: Our comprehension focus this week is questioning and compare/contrast. Our spelling focus is sh, wh, th. The children are working very hard on using their time wisely and getting to all five areas during daily five. Math: We will finish chapter 10 this week. The test will be on Wednesday. Chapter 11 covers ordinal numbers. Religion: We will finish up chapter 10 this week. Chapter 11 covers forgiveness. The children will be hearing the story of Zacchaeus. Science/ Social Science: This week we wil be traveling to the Blue Mountains. We will learn about the Three Sisters, Eucalpytus forests, and marsupials.
