Dear Teacher,
Thank you for signing up for the Blues Bookworms Program presented by Germ-X!
We hope this program gets your classroom excited about reading! Below you
will find information needed to implement Blues Bookworms into your classroom.
Here’s how the program works:
Each month students record the number of minutes read using the Busy
Bookworms Form. Forms should be initialed by a parent/guardian and submitted
to you. You will then submit the list of student’s minutes using the teacher
tracker form online at Classroom minutes submission. The number of minutes
read by the classroom should be turned in by the 5th of the following month.
For example, October minutes should be sent on or before November 5th.
Every class that reaches or goes beyond the goal of 250 minutes per month per
student will be entered into a drawing for a player appearance. One classroom
will be randomly selected each month to win a visit from a Blues player. All
classes that reach their monthly goal will be highlighted on the Blues
Bookworms page on www.stlouisblues.com; this will include teachers name and
school.
Students that reach the goal of 1000 minutes at the end of the program will
receive a free ticket to the Blues Bookworms game Sunday, March 28 vs.
Edmonton (5 p.m.). Ticket vouchers and discount order forms will be sent out
at the end of the program.
At the end of January, the top reader from each grade level, based on overall
number of minutes read, will win the Blues Bookworms All-Star Award and four
tickets to celebrate their accomplishments during the Blues Bookworms game
Sunday, March 28 vs. Edmonton (5 p.m.). Winners will be highlighted on the
jumbotron during the game, and also on www.stlouisblues.com.
Tracking forms for you and your students are attached and bookmarks will be
mailed to you in mid-October. Should you have any questions please contact me
via e-mail at rgirsch@stlblues.com.
Again, thank you for signing up for Blues Bookworms. We hope this program
will assist you in encouraging your students to implement reading into their
daily lives. We look forward to seeing your results and best of luck with the
program!
Sincerely,
Randy Girsch
