Choose three of the following activities to do for spelling homework this week. Color in the
boxes you have completed and turn in with your work.
Write words in abc order
Scrabble words:
Using scrabble tiles, spell out your words and then add up the sum of all the letters for each
word. Write the word and the total for that word on a sheet of loose leaf paper.
Create “X” words by writing two or more words so they cross where they have common letters like
a crossword puzzle.
Use all the spelling words in five to 10 silly sentences (Kind of like the word wall word
sentences I have to make up.)
Make a word train: Write the whole list of words as one long word using a different color pencil
for each word.
Cut out letters from the newspaper or a magazine and glue them on paper to spell all the words.
Do the second page of the unit (like we usually do for homework on Tuesday night)
Write all the spelling words with red and blue, using blue for consonants and red for vowels.
Write a story using all the spelling words.

Do a Make-a-Word sheet
Cut out letters from the newspaper or a magazine and glue them on paper to spell all the words.
Whatchamacallit— draw a simple design by writing your spelling words in the shape of something.
Make a word search on graph paper (I can give you some) with all of your words. Have another
student solve your word search before turning it in. Put both your names on the paper: designer
and solver.
Scramble all of your spelling words. Have another student unscramble the words on another piece
of paper. Turn in both papers with your names on them.

Type your words on the computer.

and highlight them.
