Discipline Plan

In order to provide our students with the excellent educational climate they deserve, we have developed the following classroom discipline plan that will be in effect at all times. This plan does NOT include homework. Homework will be handled separately. A similar plan will be used throughout the school. Rules: 1. Receive permission before speaking by raising a hand. 2. Keep hands, feet, or objects to yourself at all times. 3. Speak and act respectfully. 4. Follow directions the first time given which includes bringing all materials to class. 5. Follow all school-wide rules (found in Parent Handbook). Consequences: Name in book Verbal warning-- reminder 1 mark Final warning-- Parents contacted 2 marks Eat lunch alone 3 marks Lose lunch recess 4 marks Eat lunch alone AND lose lunch recess 5 marks Referral to Principal 6 marks After school detention 7 marks After this level in-school suspension, Principal’s detention on Saturday morning, out of school suspension, and expulsion may result. This will be determined after the principal consults with the teacher, parents and student. It is in your child's best interest that we work together with regard to his/her education. We will thus keep you informed about your child's progress in class. We have already discussed this plan with your child, but would appreciate it if you would review it with him/her.
