When is lunch? This is the question asked most by students. Yum!

Lunch is eaten each school day from 12:15-12:45 p.m.  Eat all the 
nutritious food your parents gave you please. The desert is last
after you eat everything else, including the celery and carrot
sticks.

What time is recess? This is the next question most commonly asked by students

Recess is after lunch is eaten and until the bell rings.

When do we start Christmas vacation? This is most commonly asked in Dec.

When are book reports due?

Book reports are due on the designated date and that's usually 
the last school day of a month. Books reports are assigned by the
teacher unless other work is deemed acceptable in lieu of a book
report. Your child will be advised what assignment is
required.

What are all the parts for the monthly book report?

The necessary sections for the book report include: Title, 
Author, Main
Character/Characters, Summary, Opinion and Why you enjoyed or
didn't enjoy
the book.

Why is there daily homework in Math and Language Arts?

Students review, reinforce and apply knowledge and skills learned 
collaboratively. These fundamentals are implemented across the
curriculum
so the students benefit the most from this type of work. Thank

Mrs. Leahy, how many sentences do I have to write in my paragraph?

My answer always is, "My expectation is a minimum of seven 
sentences.
Please begin immediately and you must indent, capitalize,
punctuate every
sentence, have complete thoughts, AKA sentences, spell correctly
and write
legibly and neatly in cursive. You must always check your work
by rereading
it, using a dictionary and crossing your T's & X's and dotting
your i's.

Why do we always read the directions and discuss what needs to be done?

Directions indicate what should be done, how to do it and help 
you to listen
well so the instructions can then, be followed.

What can I do every day to strengthen scholastic skills?

Please practice multiplication tables daily for several minutes.  
Also
review some Dolch Sight Words daily. These 2 things will greatly
benefit
students in all subjects. Thank you.

When are the skyscraper or Picasso,torso & diamond legs projects due?

The group skyscraper OR individual Picasso projects are due in 
class during
homeroom the Friday before Catholic Schools' Week. Each
individual torso &
diamond legs project is also due at the same time. Thank you.

Why are cursive written papers and computer generated papers required?

Students are required to submit cursive written papers that are 
proofread
and edited. Dictionary and writing skills are reinforced with
practice.
Technology skills are implemented, however, students don't only
rely on this
one tool.

How are Scholastic Reading Counts awards earned?

Our principal considers all the factors for each student in the 
Reading
Counts Program. The student must read many books from the list as
well as,
score high on the 1st E-test. So read for fun but also for
comprehension.

and how. This is a way to know the fundamental important
information needed to write a summary.

What are the academic standards for honor roll?

In an effort to motivate each child to his/her highest potential, 
honor roll standards have been raised.
First Honors: All "A" grades and no check marks
Second Honors: "A" grades with a maximum of four "B" grades and
no check marks
