Yes, Mr. Berlage teaches BOTH English and Math...he's just weird that way...
Originally from Virginia, Mr. Berlage moved to Chicago in 1998 working for
the software industry as a technical writer and technical trainer. He
obtained his Bachelor's Degree from George Mason University in Virginia
(remember the Final Four last year?) and his Masters Degree in Secondary
Education from Northeastern Illinois University. He is dual endorsed in both
English and Mathematics.
When he is not taking care of his needy cat, Mr. Berlage's hobbies include
biking and teaching swimming, traveling and reading.
Mr. Berlage believes that it is important to empower his students a strong
sense of self-worth and self-responsibility for their actions and education.
The mission of this class is to develop problem solving skills to be used
inside and outside the mathematics classroom and develop a connection between
the material we are studying and real life situations. As students, you will
also be improving your test-taking, reading and writing skills, as well as
confidence in your own mathematical ability.
