Digital Media I is an introductory course in graphic design and communications
using digital tools. Students learn design basics for print and digital
production, including principles of design, layout, color theory,
illustration, typography, and design technology. Students build skills with a
variety of tools used in professional environments, such as Photoshop,
Illustrator, InDesign, Flash and Dreamweaver.
The purpose of this course is to develop and practice visual design skills
while exploring potential careers in Digital Media. Class projects reflect
real world problems and tasks, and culminate in a digital portfolio and
advancement to Digital Media II and III.
