How do I get complete the exams for SAM Office 2007 assignments?

Go to the website

Login

Your login is your cps email
Your password is either Cps followed by your ID (no spaces) or
the password you created.

Click on my assignments
Click on the assignment for the Chapter we are on.
Click ok

Complete all the steps for the training and the exam.

How do I take a test on the Internet?

Go to www.mygradebook.com

Login according to the following rules:

First Period username = streaks1st
Second Period username = streaks2nd
Third Period username = streaks3rd
Fourth Period username = streaks4th
6th and 7th username classword = streaks6th

your password is your ID.

Once you are logged on, look on the right hand side and there is
a link to online quizzes. It says:

See all assigned online quizzes. Click on the link.

How can I do assignments if I miss class?

If you have an excused absence you can do the previous 
assignment. The previous assignments are posted on the web site.

How do I access my What's Next Illinois Portfolio?

1.  Go to http://www.whatsnextillinois.org
2. Go to "Sign In"
3. Enter Account Name: this is where you enter the word "cps"
and your CPS
ID number. No spaces, case-sensitive: cps12345678
4. Enter Password: repeat step 3: enter the word "cps" and your
CPS ID
number, no spaces, case-sensitive: cps12345678
5. Click "Sign In"
6. Follow remaining steps to activate account.
7. The system will force you to change your password. Make it
their 8-digit
student id.
8. Write down your password

What do I do if my computer is not working?

1.  Check if the power light is on for both the monitor and the 
CPU
2. If not, make sure the monitor and CPU are both plugged in.
3. If the components are all plugged in, make sure the internet
cable is connected. If not, connect it.
4. If the computer is still not working hold the power button
down for 30 seconds and release. This will turn the computer
off. Then turn
the computer back on by pressing the button again.
5. If the computer is still not working, work with a partner and
let me know so I can fix it. Do not wait for me to fix it, you
might
lose your points for the day.

What should I do if I forgot to change my password or forgot my password?

You will need to write a letter to  IT.  In the letter please 
include:

1. Your name
2. Your login ID (same as your email in First Class)
3. State that you are sorry that you forgot your password or
forgot to change your password.
4. State that you are in Ms. Wards class
5. Sign the letter.
6. Give the letter to Ms. Ward at the end of the period.
7. IT will give you one chance per semester to have your
password changed. If you forget it again, or forget to change it
you will not
be able to use the computer.

How often should I check my grade?

You should check your grade every day.  You have one week from 
the time I enter your grades to inform me if I have made a
mistake. I put all grades in for the week on Saturday so I
suggest that you check your grade every Monday.

What are the procedures for this class?

1.  When you enter the classroom, go to 
http://teacherweb.com/IL/Steinmetz/WardM for your assignment.
2. If your computer is not working check the web site for
troubleshooting tips. If it is still not working tell the
teacher and work with a partner.
Do not wait for me to fix the computer.
3. Late work is accepted. However, you will not receive full
credit unless you have an excused absence.
4. If you help another student in the class you get credit.
After you help the student ask them if they will sponsor you for
credit. Points are awarded when a student emails another student
indicating that the student gave or received help. All points
are given on Friday.
