Welcome to 6th grade Science!! Each week I will post upcoming assignments and
class activities.
This will help remind students of homework that is due and allow parents a
peek inside our

MONDAY- Correct Lab Review part 2 in class, penny lab (skip part 4)...complete
lab safety worksheet for homework
TUESDAY- Rotting fruit observation...review for lab safety test!! Homework is
to study for test!
WEDNESDAY- Lab Safety Test...no homework....step 5 worksheet is due on Friday!
THURSDAY- Soda Lab....go over safety test...retakes will be Monday at recess.
Be sure to get signed letter/with Grade of Safety Test signed and returned
also, get progress reports (all 4 pages) signed and returned tomorrow
FRIDAY- Return papers...work on "on closer inspection" in class...no
homework...enjoy your weekend!!
WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 6th-9th!! Science Lab Safety Test is Wednesday,September
14th!! Your child should be reviewing their rules 5 minutes each night!
MONDAY--NO SCHOOL LABOR DAY!! ENJOY!
TUESDAY- Work on lab drawing using a safety rule. If not completed, must be
finished for homework due tomorrow (draw a picture and color it)! Also, BOTH
copies of safety contract are due signed tomorrow! Safety crossword puzzle is
extra credit.
WEDNESDAY- Following Directions worksheet (in class_ and Lab Review #1 in
class....lab safety challenge worksheet is due for homework tomorrow!
THURSDAY- SuperSleuth activity in class...begin going over process skills
(qualitative observation)...lab safety review part 2 is do tomorrow for homework
FRIDAY- Go over Lab review #2 in class...qualitative observations
(candy lab)....return papers. Over the weekend, review safety rules...your
test is next

class. Don't forget to get all papers/forms signed
TUESDAY- We begin going over lab equipment and safety rules....review the
rules a little each night to help you better understand the safety rules
WEDNESDAY- Continue with lab safety rules...lab do's and don'ts (5 of each)
due tomorrow
THURSDAY- Finish lab rules...quiz tomorrow on emergency equipment and lab
equipment....study!!
FRIDAY- QUIZ ON EMERGENCY SAFETY! Continue with lab rules. No homework this
weekend!! NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 5th FOR LABOR DAY!! Enjoy your long
weekend!!
THIS FIRST WEEK...AUGUST 23rd- AUGUST 26th
will be mostly getting organized and getting to know each other.
