The social worker is available to parents to discuss any parenting issues
that affect their children. It is best to telephone ahead of time, if
possible, in order to schedule a telephone or in person meeting.
Parenting is probably the most important job we will ever do, yet we are
bombarded by so many different parenting approaches, we do not know what
works or what is best.
Probably, the best approach in a two-parent family is for parents to have the
same expectations of their children and to be consistent in following
through with consequences.
One resource which has been extremely helpful in determining consequences is
the 123 Magic technique which has been developed by Dr. Thomas Phelan.
