This is my 31st year teaching in District 20. This is my third year back in
second grade. Prior to this, I taught kindergarten for eight years. I taught
second grade for seven years many years ago and am happy to be part of the
second grade team again. I also have taught students in grades 3, 4, and 6. I
received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from University of
Illinios and my Master's degree in Reading from Northeastern University. My
husband's name is Alan, and we have two sons, David and Jordan. David is 21,
lives at home, and has a career as a HVAC technican. Jordan is 18, lives at
home, and graduated from high school in June. He is interested in baking. My
mom, who is 83, lives with us and is a big part of our lives. I also have a
daughter ,Carrie, who lives in Florida with her husband, Eric,and their two
children. My 11 year old grandson ,Koby, is in 5th grade and my
grandaughter ,Channing, is 9 and is in 4th grade. Our family has a 6 year old
lab named Calvin, and a 5 old lab named Hailey.
My hope is for all the children to have a love for school and learning. I
want each child to know they are valued for who they are and to feel like an
important member of our family within the class.
