Here's a little information about me!
I was born in Japan and I have moved ten times to various cities in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and most
recently, to Illinois. I graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. I majored in Early Childhood
Education and earned a minor in Spanish. Upon graduation, I was a tutor and substitute teacher in
Saline, Michigan. In Michigan, I taught first grade and lived with my parents, 6 brothers, and 2
sisters! Then, I decided to relocate to Illinois and was so lucky to teach in District 20. This is my
sixth year at Waterbury. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading, making scrapbooks, watching
movies, and traveling with my husband, Chris. In March of 2008, I earned my master's degree in
reading and also received my reading specialist certificate. The skills I learned in the program will
help me to become a Reading Specialist someday. Until then, I will use these techniques
to help me to make your child a better reader. I am so excited to work with you and your child
this year.
