Homework is an important part of fifth grade. It is both the practice of concepts learned in school, and the completion of required assignments . In my classroom, I try to limit homework to about thirty minutes per night. I also try to not give homework on Fridays, but that is not always possible. Homework assignments are always written on the white board at the back of the room. Your child knows that he/she is responsible for anything written on the homework board.
However, if I forget to write the assignment on the homework board, I do not hold the students responsible for that assignment. s
