I have taught first through fourth grades since 1978. I earned my
bachelor's and master's degrees from Northern Illinois University, and
attained National Board Certification in November of 2000.
I am married with three children. My husband and I have a son, Shawn (age
26), who has recently returned home from 5 years in the Army. He completed two
tours in Iraq, is now on inactive duty, and attend COD. We also have two
daughters (ages 21 and 18). My daughter, Lauren, graduated from UIC and is
now attending Chamberlain College of Nursing, while Allison is at Hoffman
Estates High School. We have two orange cats named Mango and Milo.
My goal is for all of my students to enjoy learning, reading, and trying new
things. Mistakes are a part of learning and are valued for the lessons they
teach. I also would like to share my love of science and technology with all
of my students.
