This is my tenth year teaching at Woodland. I am
originally from New York but have lived all over the country. I now call
Gurnee my home as I lived here for the last 14 years. My husband and I have
three kids, which have all gone through Woodland schools. Daniel is 22 yrs
old and is graduating from U of I in December with an engineering degree.
Rachel is 21 yrs old and a senior at the Kelly School of Business at Indiana
University. Jeffrey is 16 and a junior in high school. I enjoy spending time
with my family and friends. My hobbies and great loves include reading,
music, movies, and anything food related! :)
Prior to teaching, I was a clinical social worker for nearly ten years
and provided therapy to children, adults and families in a variety of
settings.I worked at community mental health centers, hospitals and
ultimately was part of a private practice in New York. Providing a safe,
supportive environment for children remains my goal even in the classroom.
My classroom theme is "TEAM", Together Everyone Achieves More. You are an
important member of our class "team". I value your input. Please feel free to
ask questions, express concerns and share ideas. I look forward to working
with you to make this year a great success for your child.
I look forward to a wonderful year full of learning and laughter.
"I will challenge my students to reach just beyond that point where they
are comfortable, so they will discover that their own perceptions of their
potential are not their true limits." Barbara H. Wagner
