My name is Mrs. Kunesh (pronounced Koo-nish)and I am delighted to be
teaching First Grade at Woodland West! I am proud to say that I have been
teaching for 16 years!
Ever since I can remember, I have wanted to be a teacher. Children
inspire me with their boundless energy, creative minds, and kind spirits.
It is a joy to watch them grow and learn over the course of a school year.
First grade is especially exciting because students discover the world of
reading!
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my husband,
Derek, and our five year old twins, Lauren and Madelyn. The Kunesh Family
loves to play at the many beautiful parks in the area and visit the Warren-
Newport Library. We are also HUGE football fans! The Georgia Bulldogs and
the Green Bay Packers are our favorite teams! GO DAWGS! GO PACK!
"2, 4, 6, 8... First Grade is really great!"
My educational philosophy is simple. I believe that you cannot force
children to learn. Learning comes naturally when children feel safe, loved
and comfortable in their environment. So, my goal is to provide a warm,
nuturing, and exciting environment where all children can learn without fear
of failure or embarrassment.
In Room 39 we are a First Grade Family. This is a concept that will be
introduced on the first day of school and carried out throughout the school
year. Students will be treated with respect and in return, wiil treat each
other with respect.
