Can I send a snack?

Yes, you may send a healthy snack with your child.  Please do not send 
candy.  Also, you may send a water bottle for snack, but no juice.  **NOTE - 
You may send juice with your child if he/she brings lunch to school.

How does Hot Lunch work?

The children get a debit card and you can deposit money into an account.  If 
you send money, ALWAYS put it in an envelope marked with what it is for and 
the child and teacher's names.

What do I do if I need to pick up my child?

If you need to pick your child up early from school, you will need to send a 
note.  The school requires me to put children on the bus unless I have a 
note stating otherwise.

Who do I call if my child is going to be absent?

If your child is going to be absent from school you need to notify the 
OFFICE.  If you are going to be going out of town and will be taking your 
child out of school please let the office know all the dates you will be 
gone.

If my child will be gone can I request work?

The school has a policy that we do not prepare work in advance.  I will 
collect all work your child missed while he/she was absent and send it home 
upon his/her return to school, they will be given sufficient time to make it 
up.

What happens if school is cancelled due to bad weather?

If the school will be closing due to bad weather, it will be on all the 
major news channels.  You can also call the school; there is an 
automated message if school is closed.

Can I send someone to pick up my child?

If you are going to have someone else pick up your child from school please 
send a note.  The person will need to sign in and then your child will be 
called down to the office for pick up.

Can I send cough drops/cold medicine to school with my child?

If your child needs to take cough drops they need to be administered by the 
nurse.  I can not keep them in the classroom.  All medication needs a Dr. 
note and will be kept with the nurse.

Can my child stay in for recess/gym?

If your child needs to be excused from recess or gym you must provide a 
Dr.'s note.

Do the children go outside for recess everyday?

The children go outside for recess everyday unless the weather falls below a 
specific temp. with a windchill or if it is raining.  Please remember to 
dress your child as if he/she will be going outside.

It is my child's birthday, can I send treats and invitations?

On your child's birthday you are welcome to send in treats for the class.  
Please be sure it is something that can be eaten in a 10-15 min. time 
frame.  We will share the treats during our normal snack time.  If you are 
having a party for your child and you are NOT inviting everyone from the 
class I can NOT pass out invitations at school.  We don't want to hurt 
anyone's feelings.  We have a playdate directory and as long as your name is 
on it I can send you a copy and you can mail out the invitiations.
